Vintage Lace Design - Ideas & Inspiration!

Hello!

Today's blog post features some Vintage Wedding ideas and inspiration, to match our new Vintage Lace Wedding Invitation design.

The Invitation:
The invitation features soft pastel pinks with pretty floral lace backing and a vintage style floral illustration. Matching stationery such as place cards and favours are also available. Click here for more information on this design.










The Cake:
These Rose & Pearl cupcakes from Vintage & Cake are perfect for a pretty vintage wedding.
The cute "Love is Sweet" picks are available from Vintage Twee.
You can also hire beautiful vintage table wear from Vintage & Cake, for the perfect vintage flourish.










The Bride:
For a beautiful original vintage wedding dress, I recommend trawling Ebay and Vintage Fayres - I picked up a fabulous 1940's lace wedding dress from Ebay for only £45! If you don't have the time (or the patience!) to do this, you can also visit The Vintage Wedding Dress Company, who stock a unique collection of stunning original vintage wedding dresses.

Vintage accessories & shoes can also be found on Ebay, Etsy or at vintage fayres and in charity shops, however you can find a beautiful range of new Vintage style items at Liberty in Love.










The Bridesmaids:
I love this Silk flower embellished Phillip Lim dress from Net-a-Porter, which (although very pricey!) would look adorable with this handmade flower headband from Etsy and these pretty bow embellished ballet pumps from Schuh (I have a pair of these and they are super comfortable!)










The Flowers
I love gorgeous peonies and roses in soft pastel pinks, like these stunning bouquets from Fairy Nuff Flowers, who offer beautiful bespoke floral arrangements!

Planning a wedding for later this year? It's time to send out your Save the Date Cards!

Save the Date cards are a fantastic way to announce that you are getting married, and to ensure that your guests have your wedding date in their diaries well in advance! This is especially helpful for weddings taking place during the summer and winter months as your guests are then able to take your wedding date into consideration when booking their holidays.



















Save the Date cards can be sent out from as early as 1 year before the wedding, up to around 6 months before. Your full invitations should be sent out around 3 to 4 months before the wedding date, by which time most of your other wedding details should be booked and confirmed.

Folded Hearts Wedding Invitation Design

Another new design!
This super cute miniature invitation (75mm square) features hand cut multi-coloured hearts, finished with rounded corners and a ribbon bow to hold the card together.

Presented in a handmade box with tissue paper.

Vintage Style Wedding Banner!

I made this last night - sorry about the poor photography, but just had to get an image up to show you!



















This Vintage Style Wedding Banner features the names of the bride and groom in soft pastel colours and a vintage style font, and would look so cute attached to the front of the tot table or displayed in a focal point in your wedding venue.

Origami Favours

Take your guests back to their childhoods with these nostalgic origami favours!
The origami can be personalised to your wedding or event with your choice of questions inside.

The origami pictured features questions and trivia about the Bride & Groom such as:
Where did they meet?
How did he propose?
Where did they go on their first date?
What are their pet names for each other?
The first movie they saw at the cinema...
They both dislike...
They both love...
Their favourite restaurant...



















The outside of the origami features the names of the bride and groom and date of the wedding.

The favours are a great way to break the ice and get your guests talking - especially if there are guests seated together who might not know each other!

Today's Wedding Fayre!

I had a fantastic day at the Hilton Leicester Wedding Fayre today. I met lots of lovely couples, and really enjoyed chatting to them about their ideas!



















The most popular designs were Eiffel, Frost, Love, Hearts & Love Birds, and as well as some great enquiries i've also come out of the day with some fantastic design ideas!

I also ran out of the Wedding Origami samples very quickly, and ran very low on Fortune Cookies - these were such popular ideas, I must remember to take more samples next time!

Wedding Fayre on Sunday!

I'm currently preparing for a my first Wedding Fayre of 2011 on Sunday. Here's my list of things to do...

- Print off lots of business cards!

- Finish off the new designs I've been working on - Scrabble (click here for preview) Script and Squiggle! (Not sure why they all begin with 'S'!)

























- Make sure that all of the prices are correct in the design portfolio and that there aren't any items missing / need replacing.

- Print off some price lists and order forms for people to take away.

- Prepare a competition for people to enter.

- Decide what to wear!

Busy Bee!

2011 has gotten off to a great start!

I'm spending today frantically trying to finish off the new Golden Apple website (yes, I'm redoing the site again) in time for the Creative Coffee Leicester networking event on Wednesday, or, failing that that Hilton Leicester Wedding on Sunday!

I'm also working on a shiny new 2011 brochure for Bistro Live, a fabulous chain of party restaurant in Leicester, Nottingham & Milton Keynes, (great for hen nights!) have a nice juicy wedding invitation enquiry to work on as well as preparing for the Wedding Fayre on Sunday by creating some fresh new Wedding Invitation designs!
