If you read my blog post yesterday, Mid Years Resolutions, then you'll know that i'm coming to the end of my 6th month of working on Golden Apple full time.
This blog post (which is my 101st!) is to say thank you to all of the people who have supported, encouraged and helped me along over the past 6 months - I couldn't have done it without you!
There are too many people to thank individually on here, as so many of you have helped me and been so amazing, through featuring me on blogs, inspiring me, offering advice and support and so much more, so if i've tagged you in this post via twitter, here's a great big thank you, you're all amazing!
@MilitaryWedding Military Wedding Discounts - Military Wedding Discounts I've been working on a little something for these ladies, and they're SO lovely, an absolute joy to work with! I also love the idea behind their site, which is for such a good cause so I was so pleased that I've had the opportunity to help out! @mrchristian71 Mr Christian - Mr Christian, bespoke dresses I met Mr Christian on twitter yesterday, and discovered a dressmaker who not only creates super stunning dresses but is so passionate about what he does! We also share a mutual love of illustration and all things polka dot :) Be sure to check out his dresses and wonderful illustrations.
@Chloeadlington Chloe Adlington -Adore by Chloe I absolutely love Chloe's new site, Adore by Chloe - it's full of gorgeous inspiration, ideas, styling and lots of lovely bits and bobs! I also couldn't contain my excitement at the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair on Sunday when i discovered that her table was Julie & Julia themed, as I LOVE that film!! Click here to read all about it :)
They're all so lovely, so make sure to follow them!
It's coming to the end of June, which means the end of my 6th month working on Golden Apple full time. Six months ago i was finishing off working at the party venue that I had managed over Christmas, ready to start the scary challenge of working for myself full time!
Overall it's been incredible - I've worked on some exciting projects, been featured on some fabulous blogs, received some wonderful feedback and made friends with some amazing people.
I've had some fantastic days and weeks full of excitement and smiles, as well as some absolutely awful ones full of mardiness and tantrums when I've considered giving up the whole thing and going back to work.
Last week was one of these weeks, and the only thing that stopped me from saying 'Goodbye' to Golden Apple was the amazing support that I received from some incredibly lovely people, so thank you to all of you - you know who you are! :)
With the first 6 months coming to an end, I sat down earlier today and wrote my 'Mid years resolutions' to help me improve over the next 6 months...
♥ Reply to ALL emails the day they come in ♥ Get better at sticking to my 'To Do' list ♥ Stop thinking about attending networking events and actually do it! ♥ Blog every day ♥ Don't go on twitter if I'm having an 'off' day ♥ Try and give more realistic time frames for work ♥ Stop getting overly excited about new projects and neglecting existing ones ♥ Keep my desk tidy!
And some personal ones which should also help..
♥ Eat breakfast every day, and cut down on takeaways ♥ Drink more green tea and water and go to the gym more often ♥ Stop getting annoyed so easily and stressing myself out! ♥ Make more time for myself to have fun and relax
And most importantly...
♥ No more talk of quitting!!! I'll leave you with Ca Plane Pour Moi by Plastic Bertrand, which roughly translated means 'This Life's For me!"
So it's Monday again, and as I've had a VERY busy weekend I'm taking the day off today.
There are a few bits and bobs that I have to sort out but apart from that I will be chilling out, reading blogs, going to the gym (which is a bit mad in this weather!) and playing with my puppy.
My song for the day is Lou Reed, Satellite of Love. I watched Morrissey perform at Glastonbury from the comfort of my living room at the weekend, and absolutely loved that he did a cover of this awesome song!
I watched Julie & Julia on Saturday night, and it was so awesome. I now want to cook everything in the Julia Child cookbook and blog about it, like Julie did. But it's been done. Oh well! But anyway, if you like food (and blogging!) you should definitely watch it!
At one point in the film, Julie has to kill a lobster for Lobster Thermidor, which leads to her husband teasing her for being a 'lobster killer' to the soundtrack of Talking Heads 'Psycho Killer' which will be my Monday Morning tune today! I love the song as it reminds me of being in the car on one of the many camping holidays with my family when I was younger and I would sing along to the "fa fa fa fa" part!
"Fa fa fa fa, fa fa fa fa fa fa, fafa!Run run run, run run run awaaaay!"
Anyway, onto my 'to do' list, which I'm kind of struggling with this week as i have no internet. And no idea when it will come back on as i've been without it since Friday now and a certain internet provider who we shall call Shmirgin Pedia are useless!
So I'm at my boyfriend's parents now replying to as many emails as possible, as although i do get them on my phone I can't attach anything so can't send out proofs or invoices or receipts! boo! I think I may have to move into Starbucks for the foreseeable future. So for now I'd like to say "SORRY!" to anybody who is awaiting work or replies for me and "THANK YOU!" for your patience!
I do, however have some things that don't require the internet, such as preparing for the oh so exciting super duper Midlands Vintage Chic Wedding Fair which is taking place next Sunday! I have lots of bits and bobs to prepare for it so that should keep me busy.
I'm so looking forward to seeting lots of lovely people there - such as Nicola from Eve Lily, Ali Lovegrove, The Butterworths, Lucy Stendall Photography, Yummy Little Cakes, Chloe Adlington from Adore by Chloe and I can't remember who else but let's just say i'm super excited! I'm also looking forward to meeting lots of lovely brides and grooms on the day!
I'm only here for another 2 hours so must leave it at that as I need to cram in as much online work as possible before going back home to the internetless flat! Boooooo!
It's Friday! I don't know why I'm so excited though as I'm working all weekend... booo!!
I was a bit grumpy when I woke up this morning, but fixed it with an awesome feel good Friday tune! I watched Definitely Maybe last Sunday (with the delicious Ryan Reynolds) and this song played during the opening credits and has been stuck in my head ever since - i looove it!
♥ Recap ♥ Yet again this week i've been doing so so so well sticking to my 'more blogging' challenge, and I've found that's it's really helping me to keep track of what I'm doing, and by writing down all of my achievements and sharing them with world I feel like I'm 'doing' a lot more!
♥ Thing ♥ I came across this super gorgeous Annina Vogel ring on So You're Getting Married, it's so cute! If anyone would like to treat me (hint hint Joe!!) you can do so here!
♥ Person ♥ Favourite person this week is Kat from Rock n Roll Bride, who not only featured Golden Apple on her blog on Tuesday (click here to read) but has inspired me a lot this week - firstly to add a picture of myself to my About Me page which I think has made it infinitely better, secondly to create the new Sushi Lovers wedding invitation and thirdly she has given some great advice to me and Ali regarding our exciting collaboration, making the project even more exciting! ♥ Other stuff ♥ I was very excited to receive an invitation to the Love My Dress Summer Soiree last night, and will be there with bells on! The hunt now begins for a glamorous outfit fit for the occasion! If there are any other midlands people attending, get in touch and we'll travel down (or up?) there together!
♥ And finally...♥ I have been dreaming about Paris a lot lately - i really really want to go again! I want to sit by the Seine, eat macaroons in a pretty cafe, visit the museums and galleries and stroll around the shops and bars. This picture sums it up...
